Baseline Creation

Creating a baseline is the core feature of the Baseline app. A baseline allows you to capture a snapshot of selected Jira issues at a specific point in time, enabling you to track, analyze, and compare changes throughout the project lifecycle.

Steps to Create a Baseline:

• Initiate Baseline Creation
  On the Baseline Home page, click the Create New Baseline button located in the top right corner of the screen.

  

• Fill in Baseline Details
  A form will appear prompting you to enter the following baseline details:

  • Baseline Name: Enter a unique name for the baseline. This is a required field.

  • Description: Provide a description for the baseline. This can include details like the purpose of the baseline or the snapshot context. This is a required field.

  • Budget: (Optional) If your project involves budget tracking, you can enter the baseline’s budget here.

  • Owner: This field is automatically populated with the name of the user creating the baseline.

• Create the Baseline
  After filling in the details, click Create Baseline to finalize the baseline creation. The new baseline will now be listed in the Baseline App, where you can track issues and monitor any changes going forward.
