Installation and Setup

This page walks you through installing E-SignSeal — Contract Execution for Jira from the Atlassian Marketplace and completing the post-install configuration so your team can send their first contract.

Before you begin

• You must be a Jira Administrator (or site administrator) to install apps.

• Your Jira instance must be on Jira Cloud — E-SignSeal is a Forge app and does not support Server or Data Center.

• Ensure you have accepted Atlassian's cloud terms before installing Forge apps.

Step 1 — Find E-SignSeal on the Marketplace

1. In Jira, select Apps in the top navigation bar, then choose Explore more apps.

2. In the Atlassian Marketplace search box, type E-SignSeal.

3. Select the E-SignSeal — Contract Execution for Jira listing from Optimizory Technologies.

Step 2 — Review permissions and install

1. On the listing page, select Get app (or Try it free if a trial is available).

2. The Marketplace displays the OAuth scopes the app requires. E-SignSeal requests:

   • storage:app — persists envelope and template data within your site

   • read:jira-work / write:jira-work — reads issue fields and attaches the signed PDF

   • read:jira-user — resolves Jira users when you add signers

   • manage:jira-configuration — reads project-level configuration for the Projects settings tab

3. Select Accept & install to proceed.

Atlassian processes the installation in the background. You will see a confirmation banner in Jira within about 30 seconds.

Step 3 — Locate E-SignSeal in Jira navigation

After installation, E-SignSeal adds an E-SignSeal item to the Jira top navigation bar (between Projects and People on most instances). Selecting it opens the app dashboard.

If you do not see the navigation item immediately, refresh the page. On some instances it can take up to 60 seconds for Forge app navigation items to appear.

Step 4 — Complete the onboarding wizard

The first time any Workspace Admin opens E-SignSeal, the app launches the Onboarding Wizard automatically. The wizard covers four steps:

1. Welcome — overview of key capabilities

2. Projects — select which Jira projects E-SignSeal is active in

3. Permissions — assign the Template Manager and Sender roles to user groups

4. Done — confirmation and link to create your first template

Complete all four steps before inviting your team. The app is not usable until at least one project is enabled.

Verify the installation

After the wizard completes, the E-SignSeal Dashboard opens. You will see five KPI cards (all at zero for a fresh install) and an empty recent-activity feed. This confirms the app is running correctly.

If the dashboard fails to load, check that your site has outbound connectivity to Atlassian Forge endpoints and that no content-security-policy rules are blocking Forge iframes.
