Creating Your First Connection

# Creating Your First Connection

A connection is the authenticated link between SyncBridge and a specific Salesforce org. You need the Consumer Key, Consumer Secret, and Login URL from your Connected App setup before you begin.

Steps

  1. Open the SyncBridge admin page In Jira, go to Apps → SyncBridge → Connections. The Connections page opens.

  1. Click Add Connection Click the Add Connection button. A form appears asking for:

    • Connection Name — a label for this org in Jira (e.g. Production SF Org)

    • Login URL — your Salesforce instance URL (e.g. https://mycompany.my.salesforce.com)

    • Client ID — the Consumer Key from your Connected App

    • Client Secret — the Consumer Secret from your Connected App

  1. Save the connection Click Connect. SyncBridge requests an OAuth token using the Client Credentials flow. If your credentials are correct, the connection is created and shown as Authorized in the connections list.

If the Connection Fails

  • Double-check the Login URL — it must match your Salesforce org's URL exactly (no trailing slash).

  • Confirm the Client Credentials flow is enabled on the Connected App and the Run As user has API access.

  • See Testing and Reconnecting for more diagnostic steps.

Next Steps

With a connection in place, go to Setting Up Your First Binding to link a Jira project to a Salesforce object.
