# Setting Up Your First Binding
A binding connects one Jira project to one Salesforce connection. Once a binding exists, you configure which Jira issue types map to which Salesforce objects — and which fields sync in which direction. This page walks you through the minimum setup to get your first sync working.
Prerequisites
Steps
Open the Bindings page
In Jira, go to Apps → SyncBridge → Bindings.
Add a new binding
Click Add Binding. Select:
Click Create Binding.

Add Binding dialog with project and connection selectors
Open the binding editor
The new binding appears in the list. Click on it to open the binding editor.

Add an entity mapping
In the Entity & Field Mapping tab, click Add Entity Mapping. Select:
Jira Issue Type — for example, Bug
Salesforce Object — for example, Case
This tells the connector: when a Bug issue is linked to a Salesforce record, it should be a Case.

Configure field mappings (optional for first sync)
Click Configure Fields next to your entity mapping to open the field mapping drawer. Add mappings for the Jira and Salesforce fields you want to sync, along with the direction (Jira→SF, SF→Jira, or Bidirectional). You can skip this for now and add mappings later.

Save
Your binding is saved automatically as you make changes. The binding is now active for the selected project.
What Happens Next
With a binding in place, team members can open any issue in the linked Jira project and use the Salesforce panel to link a Salesforce record.
To have issues push data to Salesforce automatically on every update, enable Auto-Push in Sync Settings.
