Working With the Best in the World

Organizations worldwide rely on Optimizory apps to run their work inside Jira.

How it works

Scripting power, without the hosting.

Write a script in the browser console, press Run and wire it to Jira. Everything runs inside Atlassian, with a clear budget for every run.

Zero egress

Run TypeScript scripts without leaving Atlassian.

Vendor-hosted script engines put your Jira data on someone else's servers. ScriptBox runs each script in a WebAssembly sandbox inside its own Forge function, with no external egress.

  • A fresh sandbox for every run: nothing carries over between runs
  • No fetch, sockets or timers inside the sandbox, and every Jira call is checked against an allowlist
  • Every run recorded with its trigger, logs and result

Typed Jira SDK

Autocomplete every Jira endpoint as you type.

Guessing REST paths and learning Groovy slow every script down. ScriptBox ships a typed Jira SDK, so 557 endpoints autocomplete with their verb, path and parameters.

  • Plain TypeScript: no proprietary scripting language to learn
  • Clients for the Jira platform, Jira Software and Jira Service Management APIs
  • Misspelled parameters are caught before they reach Jira
  • Raw REST helpers when you need a call the SDK does not cover

Automation

Automate Jira with listeners, schedules and fields.

When Jira Automation hits its limits, bind a saved script to Jira events, a cron schedule, a scripted custom field or a workflow rule. Every run is recorded with its logs and outcome.

  • Event listeners on Jira work item events
  • Scheduled jobs with standard cron and a timezone per job
  • Scripted fields, behaviours, post functions and validators
  • A Run a ScriptBox script step for your Jira Automation rules

Why ScriptBox

Everything scripting needs, built in.

Safe defaults for a tool that can change your whole Jira site.

What customers say about our Jira apps and support on the Atlassian Marketplace.

“This app is easy to view the Link relationships between Jira work items, especially the traceability report. I like this app design.”

Yong YangAtlassian Solution Consultant, Hangzhou Cloze Technology

“Sent a request in for support and it was solved within hours, great product.”

David StoddardSenior Project Manager, L3Harris
RMsis

“The Optimizory support team were superb in providing us with prompt and helpful responses to our request for support (despite the time zone difference)!”

Zayn FojdarMultidisciplinary Scrum Master, Ultra Maritime
Links Explorer

“Being able to see up and down the chain of linked tickets has helped our users keep better track of their data relationship. Being able to easily jump to related tickets that are removed by 3 layers is so helpful. The tech support is amazing, they make sure you are taken care of.”

Links Explorer

“Managing large or complex projects in Jira can be overwhelming. Links Explorer helped us to break down complex projects into several manageable chunks specially the tree view, which makes it easy to identify dependencies and potential bottlenecks, leading us to improve our efficiency and project delivery.”

Ankit NegiSoftware Engineer, Suzuki Digital Private Limited
Links Explorer

“Vendor's support works very well - colleagues were keen to debug the issue in few live sessions (despite the fact that it seemed to be instance-specific issue) and to prepare improved plugin version that is proofed from further issues of that kind. Big thanks!”

Stanisław BiałowąsLinks Explorer customer
RMsis

“This is a very great product, engaged with JIRA closely, we can track the whole life cycle from requirement input, finalized to PRD, design tasks to implement it, test cases to verify, everyone in project can get a clear picture for the current status of requirement. Another important thing is the prompt and great technical support, really appreciate their professional support knowledge and skill, a quick and direct debug way via remote session is very helpful to resolve field issues, not only for one-time, each support is prompt and great!!”

Eason WangRMsis customer
RMsis

“This is a great product. We have over 70 users registered and live requirements data is also available online (intranet) using Confluence and JIRA. Projects with several thousand requirements are handled with ease. I started with v1.7.8 in 2014, having used early DOORS versions before that. All feature requests and bug reports have been received with enthusiasm by the technical support team and responded to promptly. I feel privileged to have contributed to its development. The spreadsheet-style presentation of data helps to make the user interface intuitive. Editing single requirements and sets is straightforward with useful bulk operations. For requirements analysis, maximum use is made of selectable field types for easy manipulation and review.”

Richard CurtisRMsis customer
RMsis

“Great product and great support...! We wanted a JIRA integrated requirements management tool that provided traceability and reporting throughout the development and test cycle and RMsis gave us exactly what we wanted. Some might think the UI is a bit 'spreadsheety', but in our organisation, this was actually a benefit providing familiarity for our users to begin using it with. We have made good use of the API and now have our automated tests updating RMsis giving us complete lifecycle tracking. Also for us, the fact it uses it own standalone database and doesn't follow the standard JIRA user license model, made procurement in a large organisation like ours much easier. We intend to use it on more projects in the near future.... Well done team, keep up the good work..!”

Simon OfficerRMsis customer
RMsis

“simply a great plugin + requirements great - even larger amounts (2000+) are handled smoothly + requirements great - create your own custom fields + quality great - I have not found a bug after two month + support wonderful - quick reply with all information, no email ping pong with typical nonsense questions - downside, more rich text options in requirement explanation would be great - downside, test cases have potential (link to versions and input) Great plugin, I would recommend it”

lesswire GmbHRMsis customer
RMsis

“I love this plugin. Installation is very easy, configuration is so simple and traceability is now well done with requirements, issue and test case. Some things are missed yet but Optimizory Technologies is very open and they answer everytime I suggested a feature, an improvement or a bug...and it's so nice to see our suggestions in a release.”

Mickael ThieventRMsis customer

“Really nice product - especially like the reports on the project page.”

FAQ

ScriptBox is a Forge app that lets Jira Cloud admins write TypeScript scripts against their site, run them in a sandbox inside Atlassian's own runtime and wire them to listeners, schedules, fields and workflows. See How ScriptBox works.

Two things shape everything: ScriptBox scripts run inside its own Forge function on Atlassian's runtime with no egress, and you write TypeScript with a typed Jira SDK instead of Groovy. You still get a console, listeners, scheduled jobs, scripted fields, behaviours and workflow rules. See ScriptBox and ScriptRunner compared.

Yes. A Migration Analysis classifies your Data Center scripts and produces TypeScript conversions that are checked against the real Jira SDK. You review each one before it is saved, and nothing runs for you. With Rovo, the ScriptBox Assistant can also convert a single script. See Converting Groovy scripts.

Scripts run in Forge functions and all data is kept in Forge storage, which follows your site's data residency. The app declares no external network permissions, and scripts cannot call outside your Jira site. See Runs on Atlassian and data handling.

Every run has a stated budget. A console run gets 15 seconds, 128 MB of memory and 200 REST calls, and listeners, scheduled jobs and other triggers have their own time budgets. A runaway loop stops at the deadline with its logs intact. See Limits per run.

ScriptBox is for Jira site administrators. Every action checks Jira's Administer permission, and the app's scopes are the ceiling no script can exceed. See Permissions and admin access.

Store them as secret variables in Forge's encrypted store and read them with variables.get(). Any value that appears in logs or results is replaced with [redacted: NAME]. See Secret variables.

ScriptBox is free for up to 10 users. Above that it is billed per user through Atlassian, starting at $1.34 per user per month, and gets cheaper as your team grows. Every team size gets a 30-day free trial. See the pricing section.

Your scripts should run inside Atlassian.

Install ScriptBox from the Atlassian Marketplace and run your first script in five minutes. No servers to maintain, nothing to host.
